A Vintage Bathroom Gets A Modern Makeover

The first in our Before & After series, L-A Legacy gives a vintage 1960’s bathroom a fresh new look.

The Challenge / Turn a small, outdated bathroom into a cheerful, functional main bath for guests.

What Had to Go / The oversized, disproportional mirror, the decades-old tile that lined the shower and walls, and the retro 1960’s globe lights.

What Stayed / The original flooring (because it was in good shape!)

What We Added /

  • A bead board application with crisp white paint and traditional molding detail

  • A new vanity with a functional cabinet and handy drawer space

  • A charming medicine cabinet with mirror for extra storage

  • Contemporary, recessed canned lights

  • An energy efficient commode

  • White subway tile for a clean, bright look

  • Aqua blue paint color to brighten the small room and match the color palate of the rest of the house

The Result / We love the redefined space! This new bath is now more functional, has extra storage and better yet, increases the value of the home.
